300m boost for schools !!
More than 300million will be pumped into secondary schools in Sandwell to improve exam results.
The massive chunk of Government cash is being hailed as the biggest single investment in the borough’s schools in modern times. New schools will be created and existing buildings transformed.
Particular emphasis will be put on teaching methods.

A playgroup attended by 50 babies and toddlers in Walsall has closed after funding dried up, despite parents raising a petition in a bid to save it.
Valley Playgroup in Blakenall was so popular it was oversubscribed and had a waiting list.

Farmers will stage a protest in Stafford town centre against proposals to sell off county council smallholdings.
They plan to lobby members of the controlling Labour Party’s cabinet ahead of their meeting on Wednesday morning in the County Buildings in Martin Street.

Two families have returned to their homes in Bewdley after a landslip forced them to be evacuated.However, it could be weeks before other affected families are allowed back following the collapse on the Severn Valley Railway which caused 500,000 damage.
